Flexible SpLD Support for Schools and Colleges

Straightforward access to specialist assessment, advice and individual learner support—used as and when your setting needs it.

Schools, colleges, alternative provisions and local authorities do not always know in advance precisely which type of specialist support will be required during the year. A Flexible SpLD Support Account provides an agreed budget that can be allocated across a range of eligible services as different learner needs arise.

Rather than arranging and obtaining approval for every service separately, your setting can establish one flexible account and use it for assessments, consultations, observations, tuition or mentoring.

Who is this for?

schools requiring occasional access to specialist assessment and advice

The account can be used across different eligible services and, where agreed, across more than one learner.

£1,500 credit

Flexible Support Account

Flexible specialist support for one learner or a small number of identified needs.

 

The account includes:

​

  • £1,500 to use across eligible services

  • an initial needs discussion

  • assessment, advice, tuition or mentoring

  • flexibility across services and learners

  • credit valid for 12 months

 

Ideal for: supporting one learner comprehensively or commissioning several smaller pieces of specialist work.

£3,000 credit

School Partnership Account

A broader package of assessment and support for several learners during the year.

The account includes:

​

  • £3,000 to use across eligible services

  • an initial 30-minute planning meeting

  • help identifying priorities and next steps

  • account balance and expenditure updates

  • credit valid for 12 months

 

Ideal for: settings anticipating several referrals or requiring a combination of assessment and targeted intervention.

£5,000 credit

Extended Partnership Account

Ongoing access to specialist assessment, advice and learner support across the setting.

The account includes:

​

  • £5,000 to use across eligible services

  • an initial 45-minute planning meeting

  • support planning how the credit is allocated

  • scheduled account and priority reviews

  • credit valid for 12 months

 

Ideal for: settings requiring regular specialist input across several learners and areas of need.

How your support credit could be used

Support credit can be allocated flexibly as learner needs arise. It can be used for one learner, shared across several learners or combined to provide assessment followed by targeted support.

For example:

​

  • £1,500 could fund a diagnostic dyslexia assessment followed by approximately 10 hours of tuition or mentoring.

  • £3,000 could fund assessments for several learners or a combination of assessment and approximately 20 hours of direct support.

  • £5,000 could provide up to approximately 58 hours of direct support or a wider programme of assessment, observation, consultation and intervention.

 

These are examples only. I will work with your setting to identify how the available credit can be used most effectively.

  • diagnostic dyslexia and dyscalculia assessments

  • cognitive and learning assessments

  • literacy, maths and handwriting profiles

  • ADHD and SpLD screening

  • Exam Access Arrangement assessments

We begin with an informal conversation about your learners, priorities and the types of support you may require.

Select an account

Choose the £1,500, £3,000 or £5,000 support account. I can help you identify which level is likely to provide the best fit.

Confirm

commissioning arrangements

 

Your setting supplies its purchase order, invoicing details and authorised contact information. Where prepayment is not possible, individual services may be invoiced against an agreed purchase order value.

Access support as needs arise

 

Contact me when a referral or support need is identified. We will agree the appropriate service before any credit is allocated.

I will maintain a record of commissioned services and provide updates on the remaining account balance.

Important Information

  • ​Credit is normally valid for 12 months.​

  • Services are charged at the rate applying when they are booked.

  • Appropriate referral information and consent must be received before work begins.

  • Travel and exceptional external costs are charged separately where applicable.

  • Booked services remain subject to the usual cancellation terms.

  • Support accounts are subject to availability and do not guarantee immediate appointments.

  • Full account terms are provided before commissioning.

I am a specialist dyslexia and dyscalculia tutor / assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). 

I hold Associate Membership with the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), PATOSS, and The Dyslexia Guild

I have an Enhanced DBS (update register)

I work collaboratively with learners, families, SENCOs, teaching staff and other professionals to provide clear, practical recommendations and appropriately targeted support.

If you require regular tuition or mentoring for one named learner, a fixed programme of sessions may be more appropriate. I am happy to discuss both options and help you identify the most suitable route.
