TUITION PROCESS
Initial Enquiry
The process begins with a conversation. Whether you're a student, parent, or professional, you can get in touch to discuss your needs and goals. We’ll talk through whether tuition, mentoring, or a blend of both is the right fit, and I’ll answer any questions you may have.

Booking the First Session
Once we’ve agreed to go ahead, we’ll arrange a time for your first session. You may receive a brief intake form beforehand to help me understand a bit more about your background, current situation, or focus areas.

Getting to Know You
The first session is relaxed and pressure-free. It’s an opportunity to build trust, explore your learning preferences, and understand your strengths and challenges. For children, the session is friendly and child-led. For older students and adults, we take time to talk through your experiences with learning and what you hope to achieve.

Creating a Support Plan
Based on what comes up in the initial session, I’ll put together a tailored support plan. This might involve focused tuition in areas like literacy or numeracy, or mentoring to build confidence, organisation, and motivation. Everything is designed to suit your specific goals.

Regular Sessions
Sessions are held online or in person (where available), at times that work for you. They’re structured but flexible, and always encouraging. I adapt my teaching and mentoring approaches depending on what supports your learning best — from multi-sensory strategies to practical, goal-focused coaching.

Progress and Communication
I regularly check in on how things are going and adapt the approach if needed. For younger learners, I stay in contact with parents or carers to keep support consistent. Open, honest communication is always at the heart of what I do.
After each session, a brief summary and any relevant resources are shared via a secure link to a private page, accessible only to you. This allows you to easily review what we’ve covered, revisit materials, and stay informed throughout the process.

Wrapping Up
Tuition can be short-term or ongoing. When it feels like the right time to pause or end sessions, we’ll reflect on what’s been achieved and agree on next steps. I’ll offer advice on maintaining progress and building independence as you move forward.

Online or In-person
Sessions can be held either online or in person (Maulden, Bedfordshire), depending on what works best for you. Online tuition offers flexibility and convenience, connecting us from anywhere via a secure video platform. If you prefer face-to-face learning and it’s available in your area, in-person sessions provide a more hands-on experience. We’ll discuss the best option when you book to ensure your learning environment suits your needs.
Important Information
How to Get the Most from Tuition
To make the most of sessions, it helps to come prepared with any questions or materials related to goals. Setting clear, achievable targets and creating a quiet, comfortable learning space can really boost progress. Regular practice between sessions also makes a big difference, and I’ll support you with resources and guidance to help you stay on track.
Technology Requirements (for Online Tuition)
Online sessions are conducted via Zoom. During sessions, I’ll share access to an interactive whiteboard and other digital resources to make learning engaging and interactive. You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a webcam and microphone, and headphones or speakers.
Pricing and Payment Methods
Tuition fees, payment schedules, and accepted methods (such as bank transfer, PayPal, etc.) are outlined clearly to keep things straightforward. Payment is usually made in advance of sessions to secure your spot. If you have any questions about fees, just ask!
Session Lengths
I offer tuition sessions in 30, 45, and 60-minute formats, depending on the learner’s age, needs, and goals. We’ll choose the session length that works best to keep learning focused and effective.
