The primary focus of this service is a combined dyslexia and dyscalculia assessment, providing a comprehensive evaluation of both literacy and numeracy within a single assessment process. Where appropriate, this assessment can also be enhanced with optional add-ons, including QbCheck ADHD screening or an Adult Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD/Dyspraxia) assessment, to provide an even more complete understanding of your learning profile.

Combined Dyslexia & Dyscalculia Assessment
Some people experience difficulties with both literacy and numeracy. A combined dyslexia and dyscalculia assessment allows both areas to be explored within one assessment, providing a comprehensive understanding of your learning profile.
A combined assessment may be appropriate if you or your child:
experience difficulties with both reading, writing and mathematics
have previously been identified as having one specific learning difference but have concerns about another
require a comprehensive assessment for education, university or the workplace
would prefer one assessment appointment rather than two separate assessments.
Following the assessment, you'll receive one comprehensive report containing the assessment findings, conclusions and personalised recommendations.

Optional Assessment Add-ons
QbCheck® ADHD Screening
Some individuals seeking a dyslexia or dyscalculia assessment also have concerns about attention, concentration, impulsivity or hyperactivity.
QbCheck is an objective, computer-based ADHD screening assessment that measures attention, activity and impulsivity. The results are considered alongside the information gathered during your assessment to help determine whether your profile is consistent with characteristics commonly associated with ADHD.
Although QbCheck does not provide an ADHD diagnosis, it can provide valuable evidence to support a referral for a full medical assessment where appropriate.
This add-on is available for both children and adults.
This option may be helpful if you or your child:

Adult Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD/Dyspraxia) Assessment
Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), sometimes known as Dyspraxia, affects more than physical coordination. Many adults also experience difficulties with organisation, planning, handwriting, time management and everyday practical tasks.
Because DCD commonly occurs alongside other specific learning differences, it can be helpful to assess both areas together to develop a more complete understanding of how these differences affect education, employment and daily life.
Where appropriate, an Adult DCD assessment can be added to a dyslexia or dyscalculia assessment.
Following a comprehensive assessment, and where the assessment findings support the diagnostic criteria, a diagnosis of DCD can be made. Your report will include clear explanations of the findings together with practical, personalised recommendations.
This option may be helpful if you:

have always considered yourself to be "clumsy" or poorly coordinated

experience difficulties with handwriting or fine motor tasks

struggle with organisation, planning or sequencing activities

find learning new motor skills more difficult than others

feel these difficulties continue to affect work or everyday life.
Please note that Adult DCD assessments are currently available for adults aged 18 years and over.

Understanding your strengths and challenges is the first step toward meaningful support. Our assessments are comprehensive yet flexible, designed to suit children, adults in higher education, the workplace, and everyday life.
What happens before a combined assessment?
After reviewing the information on the website—and optionally completing the traits quiz—you’ll choose the assessment that best suits your needs. Booking is completed online with a £100 non-refundable deposit, and the remaining balance is due approximately one week before your appointment. Once booked, you’ll receive an email with a link to the pre-assessment questionnaires (please check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive). If the assessment is for someone under 16 and in full-time education, we’ll also need input from their school (unless home educated). All questionnaires, along with any relevant reports, must be returned before the assessment. Around a week prior to your appointment, you’ll receive another email with detailed instructions for the day.
What does a combined assessment involve?
Sessions take place face-to-face at my home office in Maulden, Bedfordshire, or online. Session times vary depending on the combination select, but as a guide, usually lasts around two-three hours. This may also vary depending on age, individual requirements, and the need for breaks. We pace the assessment carefully to ensure you remain comfortable and focused throughout.
During the session, we use a blend tasks relevant to specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or processing difficulties. Everything takes place in a calm, supportive environment, so you can perform at your best.
What happens after a combined assessment?
Following your assessment, you'll receive a detailed diagnostic report explaining the findings, conclusions and personalised recommendations. You'll also receive my complimentary 'Assessment Report Explained + Next Steps Toolkit', designed to help you understand your report and make informed decisions about the support available.
If you have any questions after reading your report, you're very welcome to get in touch to arrange a discussion. Where appropriate, I can also advise on next steps, including support in school, college, university or the workplace, exam access arrangements, Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), or further specialist tuition and mentoring.
