Adult DCD/Dyspraxia Assessment
Can be added on to a dyslexia / dyscalculia assessment
Service Description
This specialist assessment explores whether an adult shows a profile consistent with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also known as dyspraxia. The assessment considers developmental history, motor-coordination difficulties and their impact on education, employment and everyday life. It includes a structured diagnostic interview, relevant assessment activities and careful consideration of possible alternative explanations. You will receive a detailed written report describing: identified strengths and difficulties; whether the findings show significant features consistent with DCD/dyspraxia; the impact on study, work and daily life; practical recommendations and reasonable adjustments; and any appropriate onward referrals. This service is available to adults aged 16 and over. It does not replace a medical or clinical motor assessment, and onward referral may be recommended where medical concerns or significant motor difficulties require further investigation.
