Dyslexia in FE, HE and Adulthood: Information Sheet

Dyslexia in FE, HE and Adulthood: Information Sheet

£1.95Price

Dyslexia does not stop affecting someone when they leave school. Its impact may become particularly noticeable when reading becomes denser, written demands increase or study and work must be managed alongside other commitments.

This accessible one-page information sheet explains what dyslexia may look like in further education, higher education, postgraduate or professional study, employment and everyday adult life.

It covers difficulties involving reading, written work, note-taking, proofreading, verbal information, specialist terminology, deadlines, workplace administration and hidden fatigue. Each area is accompanied by a practical strategy that may reduce the barrier.

The sheet also recognises that older students and adults may appear to be managing successfully while using considerable effort, support or well-developed compensatory strategies.
